Harris Scarfe fashion parade with Christine Centenera
A budget department store, a Vogue fashion editor and an online designer vintage retailer in the same event? That's right: Christine Centenera and Claire Inc owner Belinda Humphris worked together to style Harris Scarfe's autumn/winter relaunch.
The event celebrated the return of the department store to its previous location, now refurbished as Rundle Place, and brought in The Advertiser's favourite girl, actress Teresa Palmer, to kick off the event.
But as for the fashion? Surprisingly great, considering most of it costs less than $50. And the parade was also shocking in only the best ways: it was one of the best run parades Adelaide has ever seen. A show that holds itself to the professional standards of the rest of the world is unfortunately a rarity in this commercially focused town, and Harris Scarfe offered a delightful reminder that we can do things well. Who knew? Thanks, HS.
